Bus Connections at the Cemeteries Terminal
To make bus connections, Canal streetcar riders disembark at the Cemeteries terminal. They then cross the outbound auto lanes of Canal, and turn the corner in front of the Odd Fellows' Rest cemetery (above, right) onto City Park Avenue. On City Park, they can catch the Veterans, Metairie, and Esplanade buses. They can walk half a block up Canal Blvd. to the Cemeteries bus terminal (below) to catch the Louisiana, Canal Blvd., and West End lines.

This whole arrangement doesn't sit well with the RTA operations folks, mainly because of the safety issues involved with riders crossing Canal and City Park. There were two alternative plans considered, but both had their own set of complications, so the line will go operational with the tracks terminating on Canal.
As of February, 2005, RTA has made a decision on relocating the Cemeteries terminal. The plan is to extend the Canal streetcar tracks so they make the turn into the 100-200 blocks of Canal Blvd. The streetcars will end their runs where the current bus terminal is in the photo above, and the buses will move up about a block. Riders will then be able to transfer from streetcars to buses and vice versa without having to cross busy (and dangerous) streets.
Here are diagrams of the alternative plans considered by RTA for the Cemeteries terminal:
