Fire on Canal Street, 1900s
(clicky photo for larger version)
This shot is looking lakebound on Canal Street (the French Quarter is to the photographer's right). There's a Ford, Bacon, and Davis streetcar in the neutral ground of the street on the far left of the frame. The top of the original Maison Blanche department store is barely visible behind the smoke.
